Film


Film was integral to my early learning experiences as I was working towards finding my visual style as a photographer. The images in this collection are mostly shot on 4x5 film (the name of my business and this website) and they are fundamental in my early development as a landscape photographer. They range in date from the early 80's through to 2007 when I moved to digital image capture. Shooting 4x5 was a slow and methodical process which was totally immersive and I can look at these images and be transported back to the moment they were taken. I have carried this shooting style over to my digital capture and still shoot with a tripod and approach my image making in a deliberate and methodical style.
