Building on the Bow – Landmarks in Calgary Commercial Real Estate

Over one year in the making, the idea for “Building on the Bow” was presented to BOMA Calgary to produce a collection of photographs focusing on the architectural history of the city. BOMA Calgary realized the significance of such a project and after receiving Board approval, Steve was provided a list of potential architectural subjects and free reign to photograph them in his unique style and with his sense of vision.
The photographs and text in this book are the culmination of an eleven month project. There were many meetings between the BOMA Calgary team (Lia Robinson, Jay DeNance and Bill Partridge) and Steve Speer in order to select images, organize the design and layout  and develop the text to correspond to the specific time periods in Calgary’s storied history. We have a limited number of this title in stock. There are only 17 copies of this book left. Get yours now! Printed at Friesens Printing, Altona, Manitoba.

CHINA, Guangdong Province Portfolio, book project

CHINA, Guangdong Province Portfolio is an 80 page fine art photography book containing 71 high resolution images printed as duo tones (warm grey and black ink) with a spot gloss varnish on all images. The original photos were captured during two visits to China in 2007 and 2010. During these visits Steve stayed in a small farming community in Guangdong Province for weeks at a time and the images in the book capture the day to day lives of the villagers. The image quality of the book is outstanding with a level of sharpness, detail and contrast which rivals the artist’s original photographic prints. The book is printed on 100 lb Garda Silk paper; a #1, brilliant white sheet which emphasizes the contrast in the images. Printed at Friesens Printing, Altona, Manitoba.
